Beskrivelse af The Eternal Savage
The Eternal Savage is a novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, first published in 1925. The story follows the adventures of Julian 2nd, a wealthy American who is stranded on an uncharted island in the South Pacific. The island is home to a tribe of primitive humans, as well as a race of intelligent, prehistoric creatures known as the Alus. Julian soon finds himself caught between the two groups, as he struggles to survive and find a way off the island. As he explores the island, Julian discovers that the Alus are not the mindless beasts he initially believed them to be. Instead, they possess a complex society and culture, complete with their own language and customs. Julian also becomes embroiled in the politics of the human tribe, which is led by a ruthless chief named An-Tak.Throughout the novel, Julian must use his wits and resourcefulness to survive in this strange and dangerous world. He forms alliances with some of the island's inhabitants, while also facing off against enemies who seek to do him harm. Along the way, he uncovers secrets about the island's past and its mysterious inhabitants. The Eternal Savage is a thrilling adventure story that combines elements of science fiction, fantasy, and action. It is a classic example of Burroughs' trademark style, which features heroic protagonists, exotic settings, and larger-than-life villains. The novel has been praised for its vivid descriptions of the island and its inhabitants, as well as its fast-paced plot and thrilling action sequences.NU, THE son of Nu, his mighty muscles rolling beneath his smooth bronzed skin, moved silently through the jungle primeval. His handsome head with its shock of black hair, roughly cropped between sharpened stones, was high held, the delicate nostrils questioning each vagrant breeze for word of Oo, hunter of men. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
