Beskrivelse af The End of the World
A murder, a prophecy, and the search for eternal life
A scientist is murdered on a busy city bridge in broad daylight. A seemingly random event, the police struggle to find the culprit or motive. The murderer remains on the run and the city becomes gripped with fear and protest. In time, a link to an obscure prophet from the middle-ages emerges, as his cryptic teachings and the research themes of the murdered scientist align. But why was the man killed? And was his death a prophecy from ancient times?
The End of the World is an allegorical novel exploring ideas of mortality, fanaticism, mental illness, and misinterpretation. Drawing on themes of European post-modernist novels and influenced by the writing of José Saramago and Franz Kafka, the novel presents a reflection on modern-day society's paranoia and the dangers of overzealous ideologies.
