Beskrivelse af The Desire of the Moth
The Desire of the Moth is a novel written by Eugene Manlove Rhodes. It is a western fiction book that was first published in 1915. The story revolves around a young man named John Keith who is a lawyer from the East. He comes to the small town of Las Plumas in New Mexico with the intention of making a name for himself. However, he soon finds himself entangled in a web of intrigue and danger.John Keith is a well-educated and idealistic young man who has come to Las Plumas to practice law. He is immediately drawn to the beautiful and enigmatic Carmencita, the daughter of a wealthy rancher. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Carmencita is already engaged to another man.As John becomes more involved in the affairs of the town, he discovers a corrupt political system that is controlled by a group of powerful and ruthless men. He also learns of a secret society known as the Moth which has its own agenda and is willing to use violence to achieve its goals. As John tries to navigate this dangerous world, he finds himself torn between his love for Carmencita and his desire to expose the corruption and bring justice to the town. The Desire of the Moth is a thrilling tale of love, betrayal, and redemption set against the backdrop of the American West.Stella Vorhis and John Wesley, far out on the plain, rode through the pleasant afternoon. The V H. Ranch was in sight now, huddled low before them; beyond, a cluster of low hills rose from the plain, visible center of a world fresh, eager, and boundless. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
