The Days of Not So Long Ago

The Days of Not So Long Ago is an insightful collection of short, life stories from some of the oldest residents on Daniel Island, South Carolina. They are moving, poignant stories about their childhoods, their families, and the many experiences that shaped their lives from those who are part of our nation's 'greatest generation'. They lived during a simpler time when people had very little, yet appreciated everything, a time when families stayed and worked together, and during an era of hope for an easier life for the next generations. The Days of Not So Long Ago was a project supported by the Daniel Island Historical Society, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, and is filled with fascinating tales of war, tragedy, life, and love.
