Beskrivelse af The Conventionalists (1908)
The Conventionalists is a novel written by Robert Hugh Benson and published in 1908. The story is set in England and revolves around the lives of a group of young people who are part of the upper class society. The main character, George Furnival, is a wealthy and ambitious young man who is determined to make a name for himself in the world of politics. He is engaged to a beautiful and wealthy woman named Edith, but he begins to question his feelings for her when he meets a young woman named Hester. Hester is a member of a group of unconventional thinkers who challenge the traditional beliefs and values of society. George becomes fascinated with Hester and her ideas, and he begins to question his own beliefs and values. As he becomes more involved with Hester and her group, he must confront the expectations of his family and society, and decide whether to follow his heart or conform to convention. The Conventionalists is a thought-provoking novel that explores the tension between individuality and conformity, and the struggle to find one's own path in life. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
