Beskrivelse af The Colored Waiting Room
Paperback edition of successful hardcover book at an appealing lower price point.
To best promote media coverage and displays, book will be available by Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday in January 2020, with a publication date timed to coincide with Black History Month (February 2020).
Proven hit with secondary and higher education; over 2,000 copies purchased by Baltimore public schools. The same formula will be used to attract sales in other secondary and higher education markets, this time with the paperback.
Coauthor Nelson Malden to be featured in a 10-part radio special on the Negro Motorist Green-Book releasing in February 2020.
Paperback edition has new, timely content, including important updates on the cases of Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Alton Sterling, and Philando Castile, as well as the evolution of the Black Lives Matter movement in the years following Ferguson and in the face of rising threats from the alt-right.
Since original publication, author Kevin Shird, who spent 12 years in prison, has become a professor at Johns Hopkins University, a profile that will contribute to a larger audience at national inspirational talks coupled with book signings.
Hardcover book release was tied to a successful author tour and attracted media interest, including author appearances on television, print features, and interviews on nationally syndicated radio, paperback will allow a second life and fresh campaign.
