The Cocopah Murders

This is the first volume in the Thurman Allen York detective series. York was born on the wrong side of the tracks, but works his way through the Vietnam War and into the ranks of the Phoenix Police Department. His older friend, Duke Wade, is wrongfully convicted of a triple-murder and is executed before York can clear him. What does a man like York do when he is tormented with such knowledge? As York works deeper into Wade's case, he encounters a human smuggling ring in Phoenix that provides cheap labor from Mexico to local farmers. Ultimately, York and his childhood friend, Manual Espinoza, find themselves the prey of professional killers.
