Beskrivelse af The Cleeve Abbey Connection
This book contains a selection of stories written over the last few years. They are an eclectic mix of genres: detective fiction, romance, ghost stories, the weird, wonderful and sometimes very odd to name but a few. There is also a short section of stories written in the Flash Fiction style. These are short and sweet and contain no more than 500 words.
The book begins with a story conceived after a visit to the Cleeve Abbey ruins near Watchet in North Somerset. It was a day of sun and showers and the shadows that were cast across the many buildings hid a story that had to be told. It was a day full of atmosphere; the countryside around enveloping the old ruins, and ghosts were abroad. Time stood still as the ideas came to me. It is a lovely place to visit. The church is long gone but the buildings, where the monks lived and worked, ate and slept are still there, ready to tell their own stories. You will not regret the time you spend at Cleeve Abbey.
The book ends with a couple of stories with Detective Inspector Alexis Longbow as the main character. Alexis is my detective who features in the Alexis Longbow Murder Mystery series. As they don't quite fit into the style of the full-length Alexis Longbow books, I thought that the reader would appreciate a gentle introduction to Alexis in these stories.
I hope the reader enjoys this mix of stories. Have fun!
