Beskrivelse af The Children's Hour
The Children's Hour is a play written by Lillian Hellman, first published in 1934. The story takes place in an all-girls boarding school run by two women, Karen Wright and Martha Dobie. When a malicious student, Mary Tilford, spreads a rumor that the two women are in a romantic relationship, it sets off a chain of events that ultimately leads to tragedy. The play explores themes of homophobia, the power of rumors, and the consequences of lies. The Children's Hour was controversial when it was first released due to its portrayal of lesbianism, but it has since become a classic of American theater. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
