The Absent Friend

Two best friends had a fight and haven't seen each other for years: Griff, in retired seculsion in his Italian hideaway, and David, a tabloid photographer in Clapham. Armed with a copy of Zen and The Art of Motorcycle maintenance, David sets off on a road trip of his own. He tracks Griff down but before they meet he's knocked off his bike in a hit-and-run. Griff is the prime suspect. Now it's not just a question of whether they can make it up, but whether David will live.
