Success Runs in the Race

Success Runs in the Race examines past and present models of black academic excellence in an effort to belie the misconception that African American educational underachievement has been the historical norm. Past and current schools that have sustained excellence will be investigated in this book; as well as a vision for replicating those models. Hopefully, that vision will inspire collective efforts to arrest the growing tide of academic and intellectual mediocrity in the African American community. Educational policies and practices that have stymied student performance outcomes will also be explored.
