Beskrivelse af Strafford
Strafford: A Historical Tragedy is a play written by Robert Browning in 1837. The play is set in England during the 17th century and is based on the life of Thomas Wentworth, the Earl of Strafford, who was a prominent politician and advisor to King Charles I. The play follows Strafford's rise to power and his eventual downfall, as he becomes embroiled in political intrigue and is ultimately accused of treason. The play explores themes of power, loyalty, and betrayal, and offers a critical commentary on the political and social climate of the time. Browning's play is considered a masterpiece of Victorian literature and is still widely studied and performed today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
