Beskrivelse af South Wind
South Wind is a novel written by British author Norman Douglas. The book is set on the fictional island of Nepenthe, located in the Mediterranean Sea. The story follows a group of eccentric characters who live on the island, including a British consul, an artist, a doctor, and a wealthy widow. The plot revolves around their daily lives and interactions, as well as the arrival of a new resident, a young woman named Mrs. Emily Warren. As the characters become involved in various love affairs and scandals, the novel explores themes of morality, social class, and the clash between tradition and modernity. Douglas's vivid descriptions of the island's landscape and culture provide a rich backdrop for the story. First published in 1917, South Wind is considered a classic of English literature and has been praised for its wit, humor, and satirical commentary on society. This is a new release of the original 1929 edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
