Smoke and Magic

It's the first day of summer before Charley Anderson's senior year of high school, and like many awkward adolescent boys, he spends it lurking in the comic store. This comforting routine is disrupted when Malcolm, a drifter with a curious past, comes into his life. Peculiar events begin to unfold. Strange objects appear and Charley finds he suddenly has supernatural powers. When Malcolm reveals Charley's secret family lineage, which traces back to a race of mystical beings known as Jinns, this insecure teen is thrust into a world of magic, fearsome battles, and enemies who will stop at nothing to overtake his hometown. As he fights to protect the ones he loves, he faces not only a ruthless family, but also the terrifying fact that he is losing his humanity.
