Welcome to the world of writing, printing and publishing! We, of "I AM" Fellowship, are very excited to provide this material to educate future authors of the ever-evolving publishing industry.We formed our company "I AM" Productions in 1980 because the "Word" of the Lord to us was that we would write, design and publish books. Our passion was to present Kingdom principles with simplicity, practicality and excellence. We can't tell you how many publishers we wrote to, hundreds, asking them to consider our manuscript for publication. All responses that we received from publishers were unfruitful. We were young, gifted and hopeful even though we weren't getting a positive response from any publishers.We then decided that we would produce the book because we knew God said to produce it. Not having ANY idea what was involved in getting a manuscript printed. There were many months of research, phone calls, and visitations to various companies trying to align the right companies together to get this project done. God was indeed faithful because He led us to every person or company that was needed to complete the task. If we remember correctly, our 1st book (WHO Is God?) had 172 pages, over 275 graphics, symbols or pictures, and we printed 500 copies to start. Well, we blasted off and never looked back!So if you see yourself as the creative director of your book(s), from concept to completion and beyond, then you are also a self-publisher. It is through this vein that we approached self-publishing. Having been in the business now for 37 years as our own publishers, we have seen many changes in the "printing manuscript" process.We will discuss brie y the history of writers, the types of publishing, the professional writing process, the levels ofediting, journaling, book layout, cover design and printing, ebooks, and conclude with marketing techniques.We believe this book will give you many insights as to the future progression of literary manuscripts. Digitizing is quickly becoming the norm and we await to see whether eBooks overtake paper books, as the new standard, in the hearts of our customer - the avid readers. Enjoy!Drs.
