Beskrivelse af Screening of Amylase Producing Bacteria from Saline Soil Sample
Starch, A main component of our daily diet is frequently found not only in food residues on dishes but also in food stains on clothes. Amylases are enzymes that break down starch or glycogen. Recent discoveries of starch degrading enzymes have led to increased application of amylase in various industrial processes Amylases [¿-amylase, ¿-amylase and gluco amylase (GA)] are among the most important enzymes in present-day biotechnology in many biotechnological processes including starch degradation, detergent, foodstuff, pharmaceutical, textile, and paper manufacturing. Amylases constitute one of the most important groups of industrial enzymes and account for nearly 25% of the total sale of enzymes. The enzymes of amylase family have great significance due to its wide area of potential application. The spectrum of amylase application has widened in many other fields, such as clinical, medical and analytical chemistry. Interestingly, the first enzyme produced industrially was an amylase from a fungal source in 1894, which was used as a pharmaceutical aid for the treatment of digestive disorders . In present work we isolated Amylase producing bacteria from Saline soil sample.
