The same day, Chris's Custom Jewelry was robbed, and the owner assaulted. Saturday evenings, the streets of Riverview are empty, if anyone saw something. Betty of Betty's Diner and Henry, the librarian, are Megan's go-to sources for gossip. Any news, Henry or Betty would know. Riverview doesn't have crimes, not like robbery. With these events stretching her office to its limits, Megan's swing-shift receptionist, Krystal, quits. Megan's love, Aaron, steps up to help her with her chores, cooking her dinner and proposing. Again. Yikes. Since her PTSD seems under control, maybe it's time to say yes. By Monday, a truck is reported stolen, cattle have been rustled, and she finds old man Stowers cowering in his cabin with a bullet wound. Megan needs to get things back under control and fast.
