Beskrivelse af Rezanov
Rezanov is a historical novel written by Gertrude Atherton. The story is set in the early 19th century and is based on the real-life story of Nikolai Petrovich Rezanov, a Russian explorer and diplomat who led an expedition to Alaska and California. The novel follows Rezanov's journey as he navigates the complex political landscape of the Russian Empire and attempts to establish trade relations with the Spanish colonies in California. Along the way, he falls in love with Concepcion Arguello, the daughter of the Spanish governor of California, and the two embark on a passionate and tumultuous romance. The novel explores themes of love, ambition, and the clash of cultures, and provides a vivid portrayal of life in early 19th century Russia and California.1906. American Feminist and writer of social and historical fiction, much of it set in California. Although her reputation is founded primarily on her California fiction and essays, as well her biography of Alexander Hamilton, Atherton also produced a number of Gothic stories, some of them, such as The Bell in the Fog, significant achievements in the Gothic-supernaturalist tradition. Rezanov is one of her historical novels. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
