Raining Quinces

Bag om Raining Quinces

Robert Wilkinson, editor of the online poetry magazine, The Passionate Transitory (thepassionatetransitory.yolasite.com), now brings out the first collection of his own work, Raining Quinces. It contains over eighty poems in all, and is divided into three parts: Camino (poems inspired by his wanderings on the French and Spanish pilgrim routes to Santiago), Lightness Of Being (light verse and humorous poems) and Blue Fruit (poems on love, life, nature, landscape, art and family relationships). Linking all these three sections is the implicit or explicit notion of spiritual quest. The poet is seeking quasi-religious truths within himself, within others and within the world, and this existential and metaphysical journey takes him into many different material, mental and emotional regions, which he traverses with humour, philosophy and, often, with subtle and deep feeling. The poetic styles and forms employed vary from the sonnet, the haiku, the limerick and the rhyming couplet to free verse and affectionate parody. The book is dedicated to 'Camino pilgrims everywhere'.
