Dr Gertrude Glossip is the preeminent Queen of the Walk, who for 25 seasons has accompanied Rainbow history lovers back through Adelaide's queer history. Gertrude's walking tours have been a highlight of South Australia's Feast Festival since its inception, and she has since expanded her repertoire through history walks across the globe.
With Queen of the Walk you can now take the highlights of the Adelaide history walks home with you. Gertrude has collated a greatest hits series of 8 walks, including stories from her earliest queer history tours right up to the latest updates and recent additions to Adelaide's queer archives.
Queen of the Walk is the culmination of decades of research, performance, activism and firsthand experience from Adelaide queer icon Dr Gertrude Glossip (Will Sergeant). The book is history in itself as the personalised retelling of significant Adelaide queer historical moments from Gertrude's unique point of view and at times direct involvement.
