Beskrivelse af Progress: a sophomoric case for optimism
You know what you can't stop? Progress. Parker Duque had everything, a trust fund, fake ambition, and a beautiful girlfriend. Then he lost it all. Would this rich kid sink or swim? When we catch up with the former trust-funder, Parker had, against all odds, become a self-made man. After years and years of hard work, he's just banked a modest fortune selling out to his partners. The euphoria wouldn't last though. The same day his "Big Deal" closes, Parker discovers his wife's been cheating on him and the world's about to be blown in two. By aliens(?). Can you imagine what it must be like to have everything, lose everything, then build it back yourself through years and years of hard work, only to lose it all again? To aliens? It was hard for Parker too. With only a week (or two) left, would Parker Duque save the world?"F*** that." Parker Duque was a realist. There were a number of things Parker wanted to do with his last two weeks alive, and trying to save the planet wasn't one of them. First things first, Parker had to escape Dusty and Peaches, an odd pair of CIA agents on an end of the world mission (this time for sure).Peaches, despite her morbid obesity, was an accomplished hitwoman with impossible athleticism, and Dusty, despite his small stature, had a vise-like grip and moved through the shadows like a gazelle. A tiny gazelle. Parker knew the quick-tempered little man and the largest woman he'd ever seen in comfort shoes would prove a formidable duo...Can Parker Escape? What will he do if he does? Is it really the end of the world? Buckle up, it's a wild and hilarious ride the entire way through...
