Beskrivelse af Playing the Game
Our first-world society places a high level of importance on athletic achievement. We exalt our sports heroes and spend significant amounts of time and money on the sports industry. Starting from an early age, many of us are conditioned to believe that the ultimate sports achievements are the pinnacle of success in life. But what happens when that path comes to a dead-end? Modern sports culture is causing many former athletes to face an identity crisis. We are unfulfilled, discontented, and depressed. If athletic achievement isn't our purpose in life, what is? Is life itself just a big game? In his raw and vulnerable real-life account, Ben will help you discover YOUR game and how to play it best. Benjamin "Ben" Gilmore grew up immersed in all things sports. He followed his desire to play collegiate football to Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. He's since worked in many capacities from lawn care, roofing and auto mechanics, to banking, insurance, and finance. Ben serves as an Elder at First Christian Church of Troy, Kansas and volunteers in various capacities. He and his wife, Brittani, live in Doniphan County, Kansas with their three children.
