After time in prison, Merle Honeycutt disappeared for years. He emerges from the Black Rock Desert, busted, broken, and carrying illegal Indian artifacts he intends to sell on the black market. Raised near the nuclear testing sites in Southern Nevada, he has been on the run from his past . . . his friends, his mother and father, and especially his beautiful and talented sister, Roe, who has pursued a career in ballet.
