Beskrivelse af Palgrave's Golden Treasury (1907)
Palgrave's Golden Treasury, first published in 1861, is a classic anthology of English poetry. The 1907 edition, edited by Francis Turner Palgrave, includes a selection of the best poems from the 16th to the 19th centuries. The book is divided into four parts: Book I includes poems about love and friendship, Book II includes poems about nature, Book III includes poems about religion and morality, and Book IV includes poems about war and politics. The collection includes works by renowned poets such as William Shakespeare, John Milton, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and John Keats, as well as lesser-known poets. The book is considered a must-read for anyone interested in English poetry and literature. The 1907 edition includes an introduction by Palgrave, providing insights into the selection process and the history of the anthology. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
