Beskrivelse af Overheard in Arcady
Overheard in Arcady is a collection of poetry by Robert Bridges, originally published in 1894. The title refers to the ancient Greek region of Arcadia, which was known for its pastoral beauty and simplicity. The poems in this collection explore themes of love, nature, and the human experience, often drawing on classical mythology and literature for inspiration. Bridges' writing is characterized by its musicality and use of traditional forms, such as sonnets and ballads. The collection includes some of Bridges' most famous works, such as ""I Love All Beauteous Things"" and ""The Nightingale."" Overall, Overheard in Arcady is a timeless exploration of the beauty and complexity of the world around us.1895. Illustrated by Oliver Herford, F.G. Attwood, and A.E. Sterner.
