Unsatisfied with her own first period, the author of On The Day I Got My Period sent a request to her friends around the world to share stories about their first periods. She asked them to focus on the emotions of menstruation and not sexuality. In response, she got unique, interesting stories with many common threads that show us woman everywhere go through the same experience -- and they need to share their stories to support and educate future generations.
