Old Dogs and Justice

The kidnapping, murder and disappearance of forty-three university students would have shattered the political foundations of most countries in the world. Instead of expressing outrage, the Mexican government initiated a campaign of doublespeak, deflection, and denial. Thousands of other unsolved disappearances were disguised as drug cartel cleansing. Victims' families had no voice and no hope of closure. But an unrelated event occurred that would unmask Mexico's subterranean system of security. A retired deputy sheriff from Texas vanished while driving to Acapulco. Those responsible for the crime hid behind arrogant denial. But sometimes, arrogance can be more dangerous than ignorance. The political and criminal syndicates would learn a hard lesson; "Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance." The land of impunity was about to be invaded by the Old Dogs and Justice.
