Something sinister is brewing in the state of New Jersey. People are disappearing in the Pine Barrens, and eyewitnesses report being menaced by a demonic creature. All signs point to one culprit: the Jersey Devil, a beast who has lurked in the wilderness of New Jersey for nearly two centuries. But is it really that simple? That is what Donovan van Sloan and his team of misfit monsters intend to find out. The task will not be easy, and not just because the Jersey Devil is so elusive. If a brewing conspiracy within the Mafia does not tear the team apart, then their own personal issues might do the trick. There is danger within and danger without as this ragtag crew scours the forest in search of a living legend, but there are things in the Barrens that none of them are prepared for.
