Tommy Mace was neither crazy nor lost. Having walked cautiously five blocks from downtown, Tommy's eyes have slowly adjusted from neon to darkness. Just ahead a porno parlour sneaks a puddle of light across the sidewalk.... And now Joey O'sullivan is about to meet an unwelcome face from the past. Las vegas in 1974 isn't the easest place to call home and Joey's job on the door of a skin-flick house is as tough as it gets. His dream is no big deal, just a trailer home in the peace of the Nevada desert. It's a dream that doesn't include his feisty girlfriend Abilene. Life may be tough but it's easier than the one he left behind in Boston; busting his gut as a journeyman boxer and owing money to the wrong sort of people.
