Beskrivelse af Nazar
Let her dwell here with heroes who have left their wives,
Wives who have left the embrace of their husbands,
With luckless children who have perished before their time.
Go, porter, open to her thy gate.
Make an end with her as with former visitors.
Ishtar, Queen of Hell
NAZAR is a tale of the supernatural.
Philosophy lecturer Daphne Sheridan goes on a package holiday to Turkey in an effort to recover memories of her late husband.
When the couple honeymooned in the region, Daphne passed up the opportunity to visit a Turkish bathhouse. So, she is delighted to discover that her hotel boasts an Ottoman original, built on the site of a Roman thermae.
Her determination to make full use of the facility leads her to encounter a figure who may be the original keeper of the hammam.
In the vein of such works as MR James' The Stalls Of Barchester Cathedral, NAZAR explores the themes of truth and memory.
