Mysteries of the Great Operas

Max Heindel's "Mysteries of the Great Operas" is a significant piece of Rosicrucian literature aimed at analyzing multiple opera works from an occult perspective; with all subjected operas deeply spiritual in form (for Faust especially, strictly so in the symbolic sense, ) the analysis delves often into the romantic, and sometimes into the scientific, with the interpretation of the underlying symbolism being, at times, specifically erotic in nature.Thus we have, in multiple forms, some similarity- such as the tale of the inner spiritual struggle against materialism, the ascendant nature of spiritual man, and the spiritual process, at large, with Faust, Tannhauser, and other characters central.
