Beskrivelse af My Little Black Book
Dive into the depths of poet Diane Bilow's soul in her debut poetry and short story collection-an anthology of escapist reads that offer commentaries on life, love, and the world.
My Little Black Book compiles the poems and stories Diane has harbored in her heart since she was a teenager. Now nearly 70, Diane seeks to share her view of the world with readers.
In part one of My Little Black Book, Diane takes readers on a journey through her life in verse. Dozens of poems illustrate the winding path she's taken to get where she is today.
In part two, readers will delight in a selection of short stories tug at the heartbeat of society. Diane uses her years of life experience to chronicle how she believes the world does-and doesn't-work.
My Little Black Book ends with the autobiographical short story, "A Quiet Healing." To this day, Diane still remembers the aches and pains of her hike in the Samaria Gorge, as it remains one of her favorite experiences from her time in the military.
Written for dreamers, doers, believers, and poets, My Little Black Book tells of the dichotomies of pain and joy, gains and losses, and sorrow and happiness in narrative stanzas as Diane moves through her life. It is a personal, relatable read for young adults who are in college or trying to find their place in the world.
