Beskrivelse af My Life, Loves, and Battles
This stunning memoir recounts the life of Warren G. Guntheroth, who rose from his birthplace in small town Oklahoma to Harvard Medical School, where he excelled.
During his internship, he met two student nurses, Ellie and Sally. He married Ellie and they shared a wonderful life together. They went to Sweden, so Warren could study congenital heart disease. On their return to Boston, he trained as a pediatric cardiologist.
The couple moved out West so Warren could study research methods in bioengineering, and they began their family, raising three sons. Warren joined the faculty at the University of Washington in Seattle, and was awarded a national research grant.
After 53 years of marriage, Ellie developed lung cancer and passed away. Warren was devastated, and says he almost joined her in death. But he continued to work, and then a miracle happened. Ellie's best friend and roommate from her nursing school days, Sally, came to visit. Warren and Sally fell in love! She agreed to marry Warren and move to Seattle. In his own words: "And they lived happily ever after."
Author Bio:
Warren G. Guntheroth wrote this book to honor the profound influence of the women in his life. He also salutes the importance of hard work and honesty in reaching success. This doctor of the heart writes from the heart in My Life, Loves and Battles.
Dr. Guntheroth is the author of two other books and is still active in his career as a pediatric cardiologist at the University of Washington.
