¿The word ¿celiac disease¿ is derived from the Greek word Celiac which means ¿disease of the abdomen¿. It is a disease that is not so well known to most people, but more and more people are confronted with, directly or indirectly.
Some years ago Johan Flaskamp discovered he had celiac disease which meant that he could not eat any food with gluten. He had to discover which foods his body tolerate and which ingredients were making his body ill. This has been a very long difficult, traumatic and frustrating journey. Especially because most of the tasty food contain gluten. And most of the gluten free ingredients seemed to bland or unappetising.
Johan has a big passion for cooking, therefore he could not accept that nice food was not suitable for him anymore. So he decided to research. He developed tasty recipes with which a celiac intolerant person can finally enjoy food again. Having a food intolerance shouldn¿t be the end of nice food!
