Beskrivelse af Moondyne
Moondyne: A Story of Convict Life in Australia is a novel written by John Boyle O'Reilly and published in 1909. The book tells the story of Moondyne, a convict who escapes from a prison in Western Australia and lives as an outlaw in the bush. Moondyne is a charismatic and resourceful character who becomes a legend among the people of Western Australia. The novel explores themes of justice, freedom, and the harsh realities of life as a convict in 19th century Australia. The book is based on the real-life experiences of Moondyne Joe, a notorious bushranger who lived in Western Australia in the mid-1800s. O'Reilly, an Irish-born writer and activist, was himself a convict who was transported to Western Australia in 1868. Moondyne is considered one of O'Reilly's most significant works and is a classic of Australian literature. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
