Beskrivelse af Mohsinah Shaikh
To love is to lose, life's ugly truth
integral, terrible part of life,
death preys on all,
a fate worse than itself,
sometimes it gets those closest to us.
Soaring and sinking is a gripping visual poetry collection that narrates a complete story through the enmeshed ensemble of 24 poems of how the grieving heart sinks and soars, only to sink again. It has an underlying theme of deep melancholy and grapples with difficult topics like hyper independence, depression, loneliness, suicidal thoughts and how these compound and confound the experience of grief, loss and the life after. It strives to find meaning in this fleeting flimsy existence we all share as humans and gives a satisfying conclusion to this underlying, old-as-time question. A product of deep emotional turmoil, it brings a unique perspective to the experience of grief that is as common as life itself.
