Beskrivelse af Miss Million's Maid
Miss Million's Maid is a novel written by Berta Ruck and published in 1915. The story follows the life of Rose O'Neill, a young woman who works as a maid for a wealthy woman named Miss Million. Rose is content with her life, but dreams of one day finding true love and fortune. One day, Rose meets a young man named Gerald Deganway, who is the nephew of Miss Million's lawyer. The two fall in love, but their relationship is complicated by the fact that Gerald is engaged to another woman. Despite this, Rose and Gerald continue to see each other in secret, and eventually, Gerald breaks off his engagement to be with Rose. Their happiness is short-lived, however, as Miss Million discovers their relationship and fires Rose from her job. Rose and Gerald are forced to leave London and start a new life together in the countryside. They face many challenges, including financial difficulties and disapproval from Gerald's family, but their love for each other keeps them strong. In the end, Rose and Gerald are able to overcome their obstacles and find happiness together. Miss Million also has a change of heart and realizes the error of her ways, offering to help the couple in any way she can. The novel is a classic romance story that explores themes of love, class, and fortune. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
