When an evil spell is lifted from Merlinda, a fairy changeling, it reveals that she is a mermaid and the "chosen one" to save the warring realms of Ocean and Forest. She and her sidekick, Simon the Seahorse, must convince Niah, her jealous Queen Faerie mother, and Needle, the Dragonfly, to help find the secret scrolls. The scrolls contain the key to a peaceful existence. Can they overcome their fear, unforgiveness, and anger to truly help others in time?
