Medicine Matters in Five Comedies of Shakespeare

The first part of the book presents a general overview of some aspects of medicine and medical matters in the Renaissance. The second part proposes a close reading of five Shakespearean comedies, identifying for each one a specific medical theme and perspective that acts as unifying motif for the interpretation of the play.
