Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi (1208-1273) was a 13th-century Persian poet, a Sufi mystic and one of the greatest spiritual masters and poetical intellects. Rumi is a mysterious and provocative poet. The Masnawi is a series of six books of poetry that together amount to around 25,000 verses. It is a spiritual writing that teaches Sufis how to reach their goal of being in true love with God.
