Beskrivelse af Mars And Its Canals (1911)
""Mars and Its Canals"" is a book written by Percival Lowell in 1911. The book is a scientific exploration of the planet Mars and its features, particularly the network of canals that Lowell believed existed on its surface. Lowell was a prominent astronomer and popularizer of science who had spent years studying Mars through telescopes and believed that the planet was inhabited by intelligent beings who had constructed the canals as a means of transporting water from the polar ice caps to the arid regions of the planet. The book presents Lowell's theories and observations about the canals, as well as his speculations about the nature of Martian life and civilization. The book also includes numerous illustrations and photographs, as well as maps of the Martian surface. While Lowell's ideas about the canals and Martian life have been largely discredited by modern science, ""Mars and Its Canals"" remains an important historical document in the history of astronomy and the study of Mars. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
