Manon Lescaut (1893)

Manon Lescaut is an opera composed by Giacomo Puccini in 1893. It is based on the novel of the same name by Abb����� Pr�����vost. The story follows the tragic love affair between the young and beautiful Manon and the impoverished student Des Grieux. Manon is torn between her love for Des Grieux and her desire for luxury and wealth. She ultimately chooses the latter, leading to a series of events that ultimately result in her tragic downfall. The opera is known for its emotional intensity and beautiful melodies, with standout arias such as ""Sola, perduta, abbandonata"" and ""Donna non vidi mai.""
