The people of Loarne have long regarded themselves as the first people who ever lived upon the earth. The magecraft that they wield - the ability to alter the elements of the earth at will - has always been the cornerstone of this belief. Who else, but those who had been there when the world was new, could know and wield such power? Yet within their history lies a power that seems to defy the laws of nature itself. Power that men and women have died to conceal - power that men and women are willing to start wars for. Three years before the events in "Magecraft," the city of Kirja was destroyed, and a woman known only as Tahira was the sole survivor. Piecing together her memories in the aftermath of the city's destruction, it becomes clear to her that she survived for a reason.
