Beskrivelse af Love In A Sack
""Love In A Sack"" is a play written by Benjamin Griffin and first performed at the New Theatre in Lincolns Inn Fields in 1715. The plot revolves around the love triangle between the wealthy merchant, Sir Timothy Treat-all, his wife Lady Treat-all, and his mistress, Miss Peggy. The play explores themes of infidelity, jealousy, and class differences. The title ""Love In A Sack"" refers to a scene in which Miss Peggy is hidden in a sack and smuggled into Sir Timothy's house to avoid detection by Lady Treat-all. The play was well-received during its time and is considered a classic example of Restoration comedy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
