Love and Other Afflictions

An international thriller, the plot explores the dark side of relationships and its opposite, true love. SHE falls under the spell of a domineering control freak and is introduced into the darker side of life in sunny Spain, while trying to appease a gangster faction of Russian property buyers eager for her services. HE falls foul of mafia bosses while supervising an offshore diving operation in Azerbaijan and ends up in the middle of a bitter and bloody territorial war before escaping to the relative calm of Baku. The couple are reunited on the Costa del Sol after her recovery from an illness, while he is still feeling the effects of battle combat and gunshot wounds. But even in the calmer waters of the Mediterranean, their chances of a happy and tranquil future are once again compromised by vividly contrasting forces beyond their control.
