Letters From A Field Hospital

Bag om Letters From A Field Hospital

Mabel Dearmer (1872-1915), also known as Mrs. Percy Dearmer, was a British writer, novelist, playwright, children's book illustrator, and war-relief worker. A lifelong pacifist, Dearmer was initially indifferent to the events that led up to the First World War. However, after their two sons enlisted, her husband volunteered his services as chaplain to the British Red Cross, and Dearmer decided to accompany him. She contracted typhoid and pneumonia and died while serving as a nursing orderly in Serbia in 1915. Her war experiences are recorded in her posthumously published "Letters from a Field Hospital".
