Kintravel picks up where Gatemoodle: Book One of The Gates Of Inland left off, with Dan and Josh embarking on their first year of college. While Josh enjoys the social scene, Dan is so preoccupied with getting to the enchanted realm of Inland-and to beautiful Maggie-that all he does is study and practice archery in preparation for fighting off goblins.
The closest thing to magical creatures on campus is the goth kid who was best friends with Maggie. Known as the Green Goblin, he has a strange aura that leads Dan to believe he can help him find the way to rejoin Maggie and pursue his quest to save Inland-and himself.
The Green Goblin's cryptic messages lead Dan and his friends to southern Mexico, where a spring break party in Cancun gets somewhat out of hand. But the real destination of the trip is a Mayan temple at Palenque, where a local shaman gives Dan a powerful amulet that will open the gate to Inland.
Offering excitement and plenty of good-natured humor, Kintravel seamlessly blends an imaginative fantasy adventure with the realities young adults face as they seek purpose, love, and an answer to the question, Who am I?
