From verdant moonlit gardens to peaceful living spaces, Wood depicts everyday scenes and objects with a striking vibrancy born out of collaboration with expert printmakers.In accordance with Wood’s personal emphasis on artistic collaboration, the catalog is organized into sections representing various printshops he has worked with—including Cirrus Gallery and Cirrus Editions Ltd., Counter Editions, Hamilton Press, Mixografia, Pace Editions Inc., and WKS Editions. The catalog also includes photography of Wood’s prints in progress and a conversation between Wood and master printer Ed Hamilton in which they discuss the evolution of printing practices and Wood’s creative influences.Jonas Wood (b. 1977, Boston) lives and works in Los Angeles. He is known for his boldly colored paintings, drawings, and prints that combine art historical references with images of the objects, people, and spaces that comprise the fabric of his life. In 2016, he was commissioned to create an expansive mural, Still Life with Two Owls, for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. His work is held in the collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others.
