Beskrivelse af It Gives a Lovely Light A Biography of Chelsea Groves
Chelsea Groves was a beautiful girl with bright blue eyes and fiery red hair. Her parents, Margaret and Charlie, believed Chelsea would grow up to have a wonderful life.
She was a happy child with a zest for living-her radiance touched anyone who had the good fortune to know her-but fate dealt her a cruel hand.
Chelsea was diagnosed with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH), a rare lung disorder that causes enormous stress on the heart and lungs. Chelsea was put on an organ donor list for a heart and lung transplant. Despite her diagnosis and the debilitating affect PPH had on her, she continued to celebrate life and to share that with others.
Chelsea received her transplant, but died two years later at the age of 16. This is her story. It is not a story of suffering or sadness; it is one of joy, of living and making the most of what life holds, no matter how dire the consequences may seem. Chelsea's story is a testament to her life, her beliefs and an inspiration to anyone who may be facing a terminal or chronic disease.
Victor Whelan is a writer and retired Advocate/Judge with the Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama and worked as a missionary for 40 years in South Africa, his homeland. Mr. Whelan published numerous articles in defense of justice during apartheid and has written several children's plays. His play, The Everlasting Now, was staged in the Civic Theater in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1967. He is currently writing a nonfiction book and lives in Alabama.
