It All Begins With Death

Mira spent her life trapped in Bellethan - an isolated town at the center of the hostile Nuumom swamp - dreaming of the world beyond its stagnant waters. She worked alongside her father, dredging the swamp bed to feed Bellethan and placate the palates of its wealthy elite. Her only joys were drinking and collecting stories from the outsiders who rarely passed through.
One day, she meets a peculiar outsider named Valthen. He bares the markings of a Suri - nomadic mystics known for hunting supernatural beasts - but denies any connection to them.
Unfortunately, passing interest turns to necessity when Maxim's mutilated body washes up on the edge of town. Desperate for revenge against the creature that killed her father, Mira recruits Valthen to help hunt it down, leading them on a journey to uncover Bellethan's darkest secrets.
